Attending dating events in London can help you in the search for a new partner, but as Shakespeare so eloquently wrote - "The course of true love never did run smooth".This statement appears to ring true if data from a new survey is to be believed. Figures from US-based firm Consumer Affairs revealed that while there are some things considered dating deal breakers, a surprising number of people are willing to let discretions slide.The research asked 400 participants what their reaction would be if they uncovered certain facts about a potential date through a background check. While the survey targeted online daters, the results make for some interesting reading for anyone who is on the lookout for love.For example, 77 per cent of women and 68 per cent of men would see their date being married as a deal breaker. Nevertheless, nine per cent of men and five per cent of women would be willing to let it slide.Anyone who is active on social media may also want to filter what photos they upload, as nearly one-fifth (18 per cent) of both genders would turn down a date with someone who has boozy pictures of themselves online.However, participants' bad experiences of online dating having forced many people to become more suspicious when seeking love. Some 14 per cent of men and 11 per cent of women said they would run a background check on potential partners, while seven per cent of men said they would hire a private eye.
