We are huge fans of motivational books, podcasts and practices, especially at the start of a new year. During the pandemic, so much content around physical and mental well-being became accessible from our own homes. Experts and tutors made their work available online and like-minded groups came together to offer support and accountability.
This time last year, I was reading the Artist's Way: A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity, by American author Julia Cameron. I believe we are all artists in our own right, so whatever it is that takes you into a creative state of flow, this book will help you remove blocks and live your truth. The recommended daily tasks take commitment and a healthy dose of self-love to complete, but the results are worth it.

This year, I'm setting my intentions with the help of The Miracle Morning, by Hal Elrod. This book is all about starting our day with clear and nourishing practices to get the most out of our lives. Whilst setting my alarm two hours earlier than ever before has almost driven my husband into the spare room, I'm finding that meditating and exercising in total peace before 8am genuinely cures bad habits - ie. starting the day scrolling and/or digesting alarming head-lines. And the truth is, the happier and calmer I am, the better my relationships are across the board. Contentment really does start with continual work on our own well-being and mental health. When we feel positive, accomplished, and excited about each hour of our day, others love to be around us... and that is when real miracles start to happen.
Look out for a brand new Elect Club podcast where we'll be discussing the books that have changed the way we approach love and relationships.
