The Elect Club dating service was originally formed in London, as long ago as 2005 by entrepreneurs Rosemary and Hayley Hill. Right from the start their aim was to make Elect an upmarket, sophisticated dating service that provided London professionals with the chance to meet each other through both a range of dating events and also a specialist personal matchmaking service that was extremely well respected and sought after by the London professionals that were their target audience.
Things have changed though over the 2 decades that we have operated and more recently, particularly in the years since the Covid pandemic, working patterns within London and other cities around the UK have altered and become more flexible, with many more people using technology to good advantage and working from home. Often just commuting into their office once or twice each week and sometimes even just monthly.
The effect has been that social interaction and meeting opportunities have become fewer and less frequent, so the need for our service to fill the gap and provide opportunities for single people to meet has increased dramatically.
So, there has been an opportunity to spread our wings and to bring our professional dating service to other cities and county locations all around the UK and we have particularly targeted the West Midlands, where our parent company is located, as it has one of the biggest populations around the UK.
