The history of Elect Club is that we were founded way back in 2005 in Central London, with the aim of providing the people of Greater London and the Home Counties with a credible alternative to online dating sites and also speed dating, that had become very popular at the time. We arranged high quality dating events for singles, such as dinner parties, walks, theatre and cinema visits, weekends away etc, along with a high quality, professional matchmaking service that quickly became renowned as one of the best and most successful in London.
Particularly during the Covid pandemic, working patterns began to change however and now far fewer people travel into the city to work everyday, predominantly working from home instead and that has enabled Elect Club to alter our strategy and modus operandi as well and offer our service further afield, providing a top-drawer dating and personal matchmaking service right around the UK, as well as in London. This now includes East Yorkshire and its key towns of Kingston upon Hull, Beverley, Bridlington, Driffield, Google, Hedon, Hessle, Hornsea, Howdon, Market Weighton, Pocklington, Snaith and Withersea.

How our East Yorkshire Dating Agency Works
Offering a personal matchmaking service that is face to face still surprises many people, particularly those who have grown up with online dating and smartphone dating apps. Often, they know very little about how personal matchmaking works and what is involved.
Personal matchmaking has actually been around for centuries, in fact the first dating agency (called a matrimonial bureau in those days) opening its doors in London way back in 1705, even before the United Kingdom had been established.
One of the major differentials is that at Elect Club, we find the time to interview every member or potential member and then we carefully vet them through our in-house authentication and verification system to ensure they are 100% genuine, not involved in crime and solvent. Which is something an online service or dating app just wouldn’t get the time to do. So meeting potential partners through us is actually much safer.
The next step in the process is that you are then allocated your own personal matchmaker, someone who knows our membership database very well and they will begin to search on your behalf bringing you into contact with others that we feel you may be compatible with and then take feedback from both parties, to see if there is a spark there. Happily, there often is and It’s been a winning strategy for many years now. As a consequence, we have enjoyed many successes over the years.

Our matchmakers very much work as a close knit team, supporting each other and sharing potential matches with their colleagues. They are highly trained, and all have gone through and graduated from our matchmaking academy, so you are in experienced hands – between us we have hundreds of years of matchmaking experience under our belts.
For individual matchmakers, it is often their dream role and something that they enjoy immensely – they have a natural propensity for it and that shows in the results we can often achieve. On average we are potentially changing more than 50 lives a week through successful matches and giving members the chance to find real love.
